It is claimed that Israelis are taking down these cameras to hide footage of Iranian attacks and the destruction caused by Iran. The video contains two separate clips. In the first clip, a man wearing a uniform with an Israeli badge is seen using a shovel to smash a CCTV camera. In the second part of the video, another man wearing a similar uniform is standing on a ladder and removing a CCTV camera. The video is circulating on multiple social media platforms. An X handle named MintPress News (@MintPressNews) with over 2.5 lakh followers shared the video with the claim that the Israelis were smashing street cameras to hide the Iranian Missile Strikes footage. (Archive)   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by TC MEDIA (@tcmedianews) Fact Check We performed reverse image search on a few key frames of the viral video, which led us to an Instagram post by Western Galilee Police (police_galilmaravi) posted on October 22, 2025, with a caption, which, when translated into English, reads "Governance and sovereignty to the residents. Policemen of the Western Galilee Station continue to dismantle cameras installed by criminal organisations and weaknesses in the public space." Following this, we conducted a keyword search that led us to various reports from Israeli media. One local news outlet reported that the police in Western Galilee dismantled approximately 19 cameras which were suspected to have been installed by criminals for surveillance and other illegal activities. Additionally, a report from Haifa News on March 28, 2025, stated that the coast district police from the Haifa station had removed around 20 security cameras that Israeli authorities claimed were pirated and installed by criminal elements. These cameras were pointed at public spaces in the city. To sum up, the viral video claiming that Israelis were smashing street cameras to hide footage of Iranian missile strikes is misleading. The video is not recent, and the CCTV cameras were actually being removed by local police because they had been installed by criminal organisations.
